Back to School Bash!!

The City of Alexandria’s “Back to School Bash!” is Thursday evening, July 18th from 5:30 to 8pm at the Randolph Riverfront Center. The School Supply Giveaway is for Rapides Parish School District K-thru-12th grade students. A parent or guardian MUST accompany students. For more information, call 318-449-5225.
Cleaning Supply Drive!
Hope House of Central Louisiana has a full house and desperately needs cleaning supplies and disinfecting solutions that can be used to mop floors and wipe counter tops. Donations can be dropped off at 5115 South MacArthur Drive in Alexandria.
Book Donation Drive!
Wondering what to do with all those books you’ve already read? The Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition will be happy to take them. They’ve started a small library for their clients and they are looking for books, Bibles, magazines, etc. You can drop off your donations at the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition located at 1515 Jackson Street in Alexandria, between 8 to 4:30, Monday thru Friday.
Plant Swap!
There’ll be a Plant Swap on Saturday September 14th at Buhlow Recreation Area in Pineville from 1pm till 3pm. This is opportunity to swap plants and stories with other plant lovers. No selling is allowed.

Fun Family Education!

Join the Volunteers of America for  Fun Family Makeover classes. Learn about having a happy family, create strong bonds, have a joyful marriage, keep safe from alcohol and drugs, among other topics. Classes are every Tuesday and dinner is provided. Kids 7 to 17 are permitted and those 6 and under will be provided childcare. For more information call 318-227-6183.

Celebrate Recovery

Don’t let the word “Recovery” fool you! Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered 12 Step Recovery Program for ALL of life’s hurts, hang up and habits. Yes, it can provide freedom and healing from chemical dependency but it can also provide freedom and healing from issues such as divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, food issues, anger issues, sexual addiction, and so much more!

We meet every Monday at Word of Grace Ministries from 6pm-8pm. We have Large Group from 6-7pm, then Gender, Issue Specific Small Groups from 7pm-8pm.

Resources for Seniors and Disabled Citizens!!
Cenla Aging and Disability Resource Center in Alexandria serves seniors 60+ and disable individuals age 21 and older in 20 parishes navigate Senior Health Insurance Information Program, Medicare and Medicaid. They also assist  with Extra Help and Medicare Savings Program, SNAP, Food Box, Commodities, Home Delivered Meals, Congregate Meals, Eye Glasses, Hearing Aids, and more.
