Cold Weather Drive!
Volunteers of America are holding a Cold Weather Drive now through November 30th. You can drop off new or gently used blankets, coats, hats, gloves, socks and other items to help those experiencing homelessness. Drop location is 3704 Coliseum Boulevard in Alexandria, Pick-up is available. For more information call 318-442-8026.
Multi-Parish Food Drive!
Schools in Avoyelles , Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides, and Vernon Parishes are collecting food donations for the Food Bank until the second week of December! Until the designated weigh-day for each parish, students are asked to bring in non-perishable items and canned goods to their school. The elementary school, junior high and high school in each parish that collects the most food will receive a cash award from the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe that they may use however they choose.

CARE-A-VAN Health Screenings and Family Fun Day!
Louisiana Healthcare Connections CARE-A-VAN will be at the Charles Hayward Activity Center in Alexandria on Saturday, December 9th from 11am until 2pm. Don’t let the word “Recovery” fool you! Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered 12 Step Recovery Program for ALL of life’s hurts, hang up and habits. Yes, it can provide freedom and healing from chemical dependency but it can also provide freedom and healing from issues such as divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, food issues, anger issues, sexual addiction, and so much more!
We meet every Monday at Word of Grace Ministries from 6pm-8pm. We have Large Group from 6-7pm, then Gender, Issue Specific Small Groups from 7pm-8pm.

Ugly Sweater FUN RUN and Dance Party!
Join the Junior League of Alexandria’s Ugly Sweater FUN RUN and Dance Party on Saturday, December 2nd at 9:00 am in front of Alexandria City Hall! Dust off that holiday sweater, sweatshirt, or t-shirt, and bring along your friends (furry and non-furry) and family! The run kicks off at 9:30 am. Online Parents’ Guidance!
Avoyelles Parish Schools has partnered with parents guidance.org to deliver online presentations to assist with well-being of our children! Topics to be discussed include bullying, depression, substance use, suicide information, grief and more. These presentations be monthly through June 2024.
